At the opening of the 33. Days of Jožef Stefan, Dragan Mihailović presented a lecture on the self-organization of quantum systems. He discussed how symmetry, topology, causality, and space-time fluctuations shape the evolution of non-equilibrium quantum states. His experiments, spanning timescales from femtoseconds to hours, reveal new insights into symmetry breaking and topological charge entanglement. Mihailović also presented the first real-time recordings of individual electron motion, highlighting applications in quantum technology and X-ray optics.
