Dynamics of Quantum matter

We explore non-equilibrium many-body dynamics in quantum systems that experience symmetry-breaking, topological, or jamming transitions. These systems encompass superconductors, charge-density wave, and magnetic materials.

Experimental Soft Matter Physics

The research is conducted within the “Light and Matter” research program. The interaction of light with matter is one of the most important fields of physics and optical processes are indispensable in many branches of modern industry.

Thanks and best wishes to Hui Zhao!

June 24, 2025

This month, we part ways with our colleague, dr. Hui Zhao, who will soon embark on an exciting new career chapter as an associate researcher in the Quantum Science Center of Guangdong- HongKong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Over the past 2 years, Hui has been a fantastic member of our research team, exploring innovative uses of THz emission for studying magnetic materials and contributing with dedication, expertise, and a collaborative spirit that has always been a positive presence in the department.

While we are sad to see her go, we are incredibly proud of all she has accomplished and excited for what lies ahead. It’s not a goodbye, it’s see you later! Wishing you all the best in your new adventure, Hui—you will always be part of the Complex Matter department family.
